BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE)
Accredited in the U.S. and Austria, BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) offers rigorous training in all three disciplines of philosophy, politics and economics. The program is inspired by the well-established degree created in Oxford over a hundred years ago. In the politics courses, you will learn to think critically about different political and social structures; in philosophy, you will address fundamental questions about reality and our place in it; and in economics you will learn about the principles that govern the production and allocation of resources.
The PPE program is multi-disciplinary — you will get a thorough training in at least two of the three PPE disciplines. At the beginning of the program you receive a solid foundation in all three disciplines, and as you progress through the program, you are offered an increasing amount of choice in terms of orientation and focus. You can also do serious interdisciplinary work in your BA thesis or your capstone project, and you can take courses from outside the PPE framework, which can offer contrasting or more interdisciplinary perspectives on the topics you are interested in. These include 13 elective courses, which range from Human Rights through Environmental Science to Nationalism Studies.

“I greatly value my time at CEU, not only for the technical skills I gained, but also for the soft skills and intercultural competences. Any university can teach you basic skills. But CEU offers a whole package.”
