Data-based approaches and an emphasis on the economic policy process are two hallmarks of the program. More specifically, the program is designed to provide students with:
- a skill-based and interdisciplinary approach to studying economic problems;
- the analytical skills needed to analyze these problems;
- the data science skills needed to analyze these problems;
- the writing and presentation skills necessary to communicate these problems to a broad audience.

Admissions requirements:
- A 500-word essay(motivational letter) introducing your academic/professional background and explaining how further studies at CEU would help you in achieving your future career goals. If you are considering the “Research (pre-PhD)” track, please outline a research topic you would be interested in working on.
- There is no mandatory mathematics test required for admission but especially if you are considering the “Research (pre-PhD)” track, you are encouraged to write an online Mathematics Exam administered by CEU or submit a GRE Quantitive Score.
