Students of Social Data Science (1 Year) at Central European University (CEU) study computational social science by combining cutting edge data science tools with approaches of social sciences. The MS SDS program will provide you with the most wanted skills on the data science market including methods of behavioral data collection, machine learning, advanced statistics, data ethics and more.

The courses of the program are organized in three main modules on Fundamental Methods of Data Science, Advanced Methods and Concepts and Specialization. During the program, students will be able to follow the academics or the applied social data science track, training them for different career paths accordingly. While the core mandatory courses overlap between these tracks, the modular structure offers flexible choices of elective courses for students who will be able to specialize according to their interest.

- Bachelor’s degree in one of a broad range of disciplines, including computer science, data science, physics, sociology, environmental science, public policy, political science or economics
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research
- Demonstrated ability to do quantitative studies

- March 15, 2025 for self-financing master’s candidates who will require a study visa
