Earn a valuable degree

This program is designed for students with a three-year bachelor’s degree in history or a bordering discipline. Jointly run with CEU’s Department of Medieval Studies, it offers two tracks: one in Late Antique, Medieval and Renaissance Studies and one in Comparative History from 1500 to Present Time.

The program is for students who prefer a more flexible timeline for identifying and carrying out a research project or wish to delve into the study of research languages. It provides a systematic introduction to theories, methods, and research skills in history and related disciplines. The program’s regional setting and international faculty allows students to better understand European (with a traditional focus on Central and Eastern), Middle Eastern, Eurasian, and global historical processes in a comparative perspective, from the early modern period to the present time.
